Contemporary NOEL

The current challenge over at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge is to use stripes and/or spots.  I used both:
I used:

- 7" x 5" white card blank, with an embossed line run round the edges using the Hougie board

- Woodware stamp called 'Huge Noel', stamped with Memento 'Tuxedo Black'

- paper piecing using snippets of spots and strips from the Wild Rose Studios 'Wintry Christmas' paper pack

- the 'frame' is SU's 'Perfect Plum' card stock

- sentiment is from the same Woodware set, stamped in Memento 'Tuxedo Black'

- brushed silver Josy Rose nail heads

I did a fairly similar card, but in much more traditional papers, a while ago for Sunday Snippets. This time I made two really clean and fresh ones in different papers while I was at it - trying to keep on target with 12 Christmas cards a month :)

Oh, and this is also for Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra of course, where it's always anything goes for Christmas.

Need to catch up on Playground commenting, it's been a busy day here but thank you so much to those of you who took the time and trouble to grab the snippets playground button and put it on your sidebar, 'cos actions do speak louder than words :) It took me ages a while to do and it's really very gratifying that so many of you girlies have genuinely cared enough to grab the button and pop it on your sidebar. If anyone is stuck, let me know - I won't snitch on you, hee, hee!!

  6. Grabbed the logo...no problems there. Still struggling with why your Mr Linky won't work for me.

Took my computer to the geek squad today and they couldn't figure out how to fix it other than to say that it is reading my images as text???
No problem linking anywhere else tho...have been googling it and hope to get it sorted.
Your card is lovely. The paper piecing is fab...love the soft, pretty colours and patterns you chose. A perfect snippets card.

  9. Hi Di

I fell in love with this stamp the first time you used it.

I can tell it is going to have to make its way further up the list of "one day I would like" stamps.

12 Christmas cards a month!!! I thought I was doing well doing one each Sunday and two for Sandra!!! LOL!!!

    Have a good day.

    Love Jules xx

  17. Thanks Di for deleteing those...that was the Geek squad trying to figure ot what was wrong. The fellow had no idea...I get to the chose a photo part and a red message pops up that Mr Linky cannot read the file extension of my photo...and when i right click on my photo to open it in another window, it displays text instead of the photo...Weird!

Some new picture program keeps trying to open on my computer and blocks my other real program. I have the top line Norton installed at the shop when I boughtthe computer. They say it is a real program on my computer...an optional one...I had them delete it. Those photos that won't open where posted to my pictures folder thru that now removed program.

I am hopeing that my next post which will be loaded and edited the old way, will be accepted by the Mister!

I did two versions of that same image...one red and one blue!

  22. Teacher! Teacher! I'm stuck and don't know how to make the keys work!!!

I like your spotty and stripy non-traditional colored Christmas cards. I think 12 a month is a good goal. I opted for 4 and then made 8. I'm an overachieving underachiever!!!! Go me!

  25. Beautiful, but I must not buy any more Zmas cards until I have used all my Xmas stamps to create at least four cards, that is the mantra I am having to remind myself of everytime I see a Xmas stamp I like lol!

  28. I love this fun and modern Christmas card and the way you've made it shine with both stripes AND dots!!

Thanks again for the logo! I hope you've gotten my other thanks! It's proudly displayed on my challenge button tab and now everyone sees it right in the middle of my posts every time I come to play, which is great for advertising! (Although it was fun to use your photo to spice up my posts!)

    Hugs, Darnell
